Single service for deposit capture at branches, merchants, correspondent banks and ATMs.

Metavante Corporation, the financial technology subsidiary of Marshall & Ilsley Corporation (NYSE: MI), announced that its Metavante Image Solutions division has launched an outsourced distributed image capture service designed to capture, receive and aggregate check image deposits from anywhere payment capture occurs, including image deposits from multiple and different financial institutions.

Sendpoint TM is a comprehensive line of outsourced services that is built on Metavante Image Solutions' proven distributed image capture technology. Providing an outsourced option for financial institutions looking to implement distributed image capture at merchant or corporate customer sites, branch tellers, branch back counters, ATMs, and correspondent banks, Sendpoint offers an outsourced service environment for a cost-effective point of entry and incremental adoption through one infrastructure.

"Financial institutions are increasingly looking to move image capture upstream to the point of presentment," said Alenka Grealish, manager of the banking group at Celent, LLC. "Those banks seeking a cost-effective means to offer distributed image capture should consider Sendpoint services which offers the first complete outsourced service for distributed image capture across all points of presentment."

Sendpoint addresses the unique requirements of each payment capture source and individual financial institution through Metavante Deposit Aggregation, which allows financial institutions to capture, collect, monitor, process and present deposits from any combination of presentment points. Sendpoint's common infrastructure simplifies the task of adding new locations or launching new points-of-presentment. With collection and monitoring tools, it also offers financial institutions a full view of their deposit landscape for access to information vital to operations management.

"Metavante is committed to quickly scaling and adapting our technologies to meet the changing needs of the financial services industry," said Gary Nelson, president, Metavante Image Solutions. "Sendpoint services allow financial institutions to manage a staged-rollout that enables them to offer distributed image capture technology at each point of presentment at their own pace, as business needs dictate."

Sendpoint services are managed by dedicated staff at Metavante's secure facilities and includes correction, balancing, image quality analysis, and duplicate detection. The range of services includes fulfillment services, support, and adoption marketing kits to help banks market services to merchant customers. Processes and controls that support Sendpoint services are tested annually.

Metavante Image Solutions provides comprehensive solutions that help banks and businesses transition from paper to electronic payments and image processing. Solutions that can be delivered in-house or outsourced include distributed capture, check and remittance processing, fraud detection, and document and report management. Customers encompass banks and corporations of all sizes worldwide from de novo banks to the largest financial institutions and corporations.
